TOP Playgrounds in Louisville
You’ve made it through your second Monday of “homeschooling” during quarantine and the COVID-19 pandemic. And if you’re like us, you’re dreaming of the day you can take your kids to the park to let them run more than 20 feet from you. We’ve put together a short list of our favorite playgrounds Louisville has to offer. If we’re missing any, just add them below in the comments and share with the rest of us!
Our parks are known for their natural beauty but we wanted to highlight the man-made playgrounds around town.
Waterfront Park – Adventure Park
The water features or “spraygrounds” here are creative and large in size. With additional climbing structures – the steamboat and bridge themes take into account the area and pay tribute to our city. The slides, obstacles, and climbing features are for children all ages. And with ample amount of running room, your kids are sure to get all their energy out here.
A charming park in Lyndon surrounded by a field, this is a great playground for those in the East end near Hurstbourne and Lyndon. With a splash pad for those hot days and two separate jungle gyms for kids of varying ages, this playground seems to have it all. Don’t forget to pack a lunch to eat under the covered picnic tables.
Swing sets, climbing towers, bridges, tennis courts, open fields and a running path – you can bring your kids here for almost anything their heart desires!
Just outside of Cherokee park, this playground sits inside the Cherokee triangle surrounded by the beautiful residences in Cherokee Park. A quaint playground on a nice day!
Cliffside Playground and Sprayground (Broad Run Park)
There was no lack in creativity when they built this playground. Climbing, swinging and spinning apparatuses all around are great additions to the swingset and climbing towers you’ll find here. Not to mention it’s set among the 600-acre Broad Run Park. What’s more to love? Of course, the splash pad hits the spot for the summer!
Marshall Playground and Sprayground (Beckley Creek Park)
Pack your lunch, your children’s bike and some energy – set inside Beckley Creek Park, this playground is the perfect space for some fun. It has plenty of swings, slides and climbing stations to keep your kids active and enough space to run about and burn of energy.
