Meredith helped my fiance and I buy our first home. We heard of Meredith and the folks at First Saturday through word of mouth. But that was not a deciding factor in choosing Meredith as our realtor. What sold us on Meredith was the client service and palpable degree of expertise and professionalism that Meredith displayed during the time we were deciding on a realtor. Meredith's professionalism, attention to detail, local knowledge, work ethic, charisma, and enthusiasm were obvious from the outset. In particular, Meredith and her firm sealed the deal with us with a presentation on our suggested home buying plan. The presentation was informative but digestible. Its content appreciated the gravity of buying a house but operated in terms that were realistic based on our needs, budget, and desires. It outlined every step of the home buying process--and suggested vendors to aid in the process--in a manner that immediately provided us confidence that we were ready to purchase a home. Almost instantly, we felt like informed home buyers based on the guidelines Meredith laid out for us. At that point, we understood that we were dealing with a professional and firm operating at the highest degree of expertise in the Louisville real estate market. Other realtors we spoke with fell far short of the standard Meredith and her team set.
To be sure, Meredith and those at her firm are experts in all phases of the home-buying process. Her local knowledge of Crescent Hill, the Highlands, Shelby Park, Germantown, Audobon Park, and other areas of Louisville meant she always had a good grip on price point based on the area and nearby comparable homes. Meredith knew that certain areas had a lot of old houses, and those old houses may require more detailed scrutiny in the inspection process. More importantly, Meredith was able to anticipate inspection issues that we might have with a home before we would make an offer on it, taking into account the true cost of buying the home instead of the list price. And of course Meredith was able to pinpoint and negotiate these issues in the contract on the back-end once we ultimately purchased our home. Closing, the handling of deposit money, escrow, and the like were seamless--particularly because Meredith and her firm have many connections with reputable escrow and title companies.
Personally, Meredith was a joy to work with. We knew she was invested in us because she never allowed communication to hit a lull. She was constantly looking for leads on houses hitting the market, and she consistently communicated with us to try and fully understand what it was that we needed in a home. Our view was that Meredith wanted us to land in our perfect home with the same passion and drive as if she was looking for a home, herself. She also understood and respected the dynamics of a couple looking for a home together. My fiance and I did not always prioritize the same things in purchasing a home. Meredith, however, made us fully aware of the pros and cons in home-buying--as well as realistic and unrealistic expectations--such that we were able to better understand how to find common ground in our priorities. Professional relationships aside, Meredith is down-to-earth and generally a very easy person to get along with.

When I decided that buying a home in Louisville was the right decision for me, I knew there was only one team that I could trust. Stephanie and Greg Virgin.
